Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2026
WhipKeeper arranges on-location car washing in the Washington DC metro area. This policy explains what we collect, why, who can see it, and how long we keep it. Questions: privacy@whipkeeper.com.
What we collect
When you create an account: your email address. We sign you in with a link sent to that address, so we never ask for or store a password.
When you set up service: your name, phone number, and the address and parking details where your vehicle is kept — including garage level, spot number, or access instructions if you give them to us. Your vehicle's make, model, color and license plate, so the detailer washes the right car.
When you book: the date and time of each wash, and any notes you add.
When a wash is performed: a record that it was completed, and by whom. We may also take before-and-after photographs of your vehicle, so that both you and we have a record if there is any question about its condition.
Language preference: whether you use the site in English or Spanish.
What we do not collect
We never see your card number. Payments are handled entirely by Stripe on their own hosted checkout page. Your card details go from your browser to Stripe and never pass through our systems. We receive only a customer reference, the status of your subscription, and the last four digits of your card for your own reference.
We do not sell your information, share it with advertisers, or use it to build a profile of you. We do not run advertising or analytics trackers on this site.
Who can see your information
Your detailer sees only the jobs assigned to them: your name, phone number, vehicle, address and any notes for that wash. They cannot see your billing information, your payment history, or any other customer's details. Detailers are contractually required to keep this information confidential and to use it only to perform the service.
Our service providers process data on our behalf: Stripe (payments and billing records), Supabase (our database, file storage and sign-in system), and Vercel (website hosting). Each is bound by its own agreement with us.
Law enforcement or legal process, if we are legally required to disclose information.
Nobody else.
A note on what this information reveals
Taken together, your address and your wash schedule indicate when your vehicle is likely to be unattended. We treat that as sensitive. It is why a detailer can only see their own assigned jobs, why our database denies access by default rather than granting it, and why we keep service records only as long as they are useful.
Where photographs are taken, they are of your vehicle, but may incidentally include surroundings such as nearby vehicles. We ask detailers to frame photographs tightly on the car.
How long we keep it
Service photographs, where taken: 90 days, then deleted. They exist to resolve questions about a vehicle's condition, and the window for raising one is 48 hours.
Booking and service history: for as long as you have an account, plus 90 days after you cancel.
Account details (name, contact, address, vehicle): deleted within 90 days of a cancellation, or sooner if you ask.
Billing records: seven years, because tax and accounting rules require it. These are held primarily by Stripe.
Your choices
Email privacy@whipkeeper.com to get a copy of what we hold about you, correct anything wrong, or delete your account and associated data. We will respond within 30 days. Deleting your data ends your subscription, and we cannot restore service history afterwards.
You can update your contact details and vehicle in your account at any time, and manage or cancel your subscription through the billing portal.
Cookies
We use a single sign-in cookie to keep you logged in. There are no advertising, tracking or analytics cookies on this site.
Children
WhipKeeper is not intended for anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that materially affects how we handle your information, we will email account holders before the change takes effect.
